• Compounding pharmacies in Australia are regulated first by their state pharmacy body (in our case, PRASA) and additionally to comply with the national governing body, Pharmacy Board of Australia. 
• All compounding pharmacists are AHPRA registered practitioners which governs their professional and ethical scope of practice to safely compound sterile and non-sterile medications under their additional level of expertise.
• To be renewed for our state pharmacy license in SA every year, we must undergo a full independent risk assessment audit every 3 years specifically for our sterile complex compounding facility where all injectables are compounded. 
• This independent risk assessment report will confirm the suitability of a sterile compounding pharmacy to perform sterile compounding using references of international standards such as USP 797 (American reference standards) as well as Australian/New Zealand reference standards. We were the first to successfully complete this audit when it became a requirement in South Australia (through PRASA) in 2023. SA is the only state we know of that has this requirement (independent auditing and reporting) to meet pharmacy licensing criteria as a sterile facility. 
• All ingredients must be accompanied with a certificate of analysis to verify quality and purity, and meet medicinal/pharmaceutical grades for use in humans.
